Description A chick is playing guitar in a show when his mobile phone rings. He asks “What is hot”. Then his chicken band and many cute chicks sing a song which has only 2 words “big zero”. After that, a man introduces  the content of “big zero” package for mobile phone. The final scene is that the chick is still talking to his friends although the show has finished.

Description A crocodile is preparing to eat a duck and a chicken but he hears a romantic and emotional love story between them. The chicken and the duck love each other but the duck’s parents do not allow. The crocodile is moved to tears. After that, a man compares that love to real milk V-fresh.

Item 1:Poem

Swirling masses of cloud
booming, thunder loud
Crackle, snap, lightening splits
violent, entertaining, hits

Striking, coming back for more
a meteorological, act of war
Fallen trees, flooded land
hopes, dreams, all at hand

Tornadoes, hurricanes, waterspouts
gales, torrential rain and power-outs
Below sea level, or on top of mountain
it doesn’t matter, what we count in

Before the storm, there is a lull
after storm, nature’s cull
Storm passing, deep sigh, relief
taking stock, of weather’s grief

Above the clouds, skies are quiet
always blue, a sunshine riot
Storms are grey, instead of blue
lending perspective, in our residue

New day dawning, turning page
breathing quieter, through our rage
Without the light, there’d be no storm
to rise us up, from which we mourn

Storms are sent, to help us know
that everything, needs to slow
Like day and night, we wake and sleep
from what we need, and want, to keep.

–         Rhetorical devices

+ Rhyme : cloud – loud, splits – hits, land – hand, know- slow….

+ Antithesis : “Like day and night, we wake and sleep”, “Below sea level, or on top of mountain”; “Before the storm, there is a lull/after storm, nature’s cull”

+  Climax: consist of arranging words to emphasis the power of the    storm “Crackle, snap, lightening splits /violent, entertaining, hits”

+  Symbol: storm is terrible things in life

–         Message : Storms come and go similar to terrible things. We can overcome to continue living. After storm,  the sky is blue and a new day starts. We should prepare to welcome difficult things which can appear suddenly in our life and consider them as normal things.

Item 2: Short story

The secrets of Heaven and Hell

The old monk sat by the side of the road. With his eyes closed and his legs crossed and his hand folded in his lap, he sat in deep meditation, he sat.
Suddenly his zazen was interrupted by the harsh and demanding voice of a samurai warrior. “Old man! Teach me about Heaven and Hell!”

At first, as though he had not heard, there was no perceptible response from the monk. But gradually, he began to open his eyes, the faintest hint of a smile playing around the corners of his mouth as the samurai stood there waiting… impatient… growing more and more agitated with each passing second.

“You would know the secrets of Heaven and Hell?” replied the monk at last.

“You who are so unkempt. You whose hands and feet are covered with dirt. You whose hair is uncombed, whose breath is foul, whose sword is all rusty neglected. You would ask me of Heaven and Hell?”

The samurai uttered a vile curse. He drew his sword and raised it high above his head. His face turned to crimson, the veins on his neck stood out in bold relief as he prepared to sever the monk’s head from its shoulders.

“That is Hell,” said the old monk gently, just as the sword began its descent.
In that fraction of a second, the samurai was overcome with amazement, awe, compassion and love for this gentle being who had dared to risk his very life to give him such a teaching. He stopped his sword in mid-flight and his eyes filled with grateful tears.

“And that,” said the monk, “is Heaven.”

–         Rhetorical devices

+ Metaphor: compare the difference between heaven and hell by showing good soul and bad soul.

+ Simile:  a good soul likes heaven and a bad soul likes hell

+ Antithesis : “You would know the secrets of Heaven and Hell ?”

+ Irony : the contrast between the cruel actions of the samurai and the smiles of the monk.

–         Message :

Hell and heaven are not too far and have no secret of them. They are in your heart, your mind and your behavior. When you have bad thoughts, bad behavior and bad soul, you are in hell. When you find the peace in your mind and do good things, you are in heaven. Sometimes answers for your questions appear around your life. It is very easy to find them by yourself.

Item  3: Picture

–         Rhetorical device

+ Metaphor : compare the difference men and women by speaking terms of housework, cooking, work and money…

+ Overstatement : housework, cooking, cleaning, less work and money are conditions used to emphasis the image of a woman.

+ Metonymy : a women is characterized by the use of the name of housework and cleaning.

–         Message:

The cartoon shows the unfair attitude and the discrimination between men and woman. Women must do housework and earn money for their families but they still have less money and more work than men. They are so tired that they must wish to reduce their responsibilities but they can not. The only way to make their wishes is become a man, which is impossible.
